Owl on the Way

I sent my owl out just before the deadline. Should be arriving on Monday. Quietus' owl reached me when I was out of town in beautiful St. John, but it was waiting patiently for me on the front door step when I arrived back home.

I tore in to it right away. Everything was wrapped in my house green and I was very very curious what lay beneath the green paper. I was pleasantly surprised to find all of this...

Starting at the bottom - green cabled pencils, green cabled handmade cowl in a wool alpaca blend I think, green cabled notions bag, sinful peanut butter balls, broomstick fuel - dark chocolate, Indian spice (yum), green cabled note cards, Girasole pattern (can't wait til the holidays are over so I can start on this), then in the center is some fiber for spinning, a candle and a golden snitch (forgot to attach the wings for the picture). So there it is in all of it's AWESOMENESS!

I saw the movie today FINALLY! I should have worn my cowl. Can't wait for the cooler weather to arrive so I can see how nice and toasty it is!

I'm a lucky girl for sure! I love all the cables!

Feeding Frenzy

On November 6 I attended the fall shearing at Juniper Moon Farms in Palmyra, Va. It was a great fiber filled day (minus some paypal difficulty). On the way out this is what we saw in the pasture! AWESOME!

Week 2 Blogging Assignment

The following question was given as homework this week:

What 5 things would you not leave home without if you were going into hiding, camping, or running away and WHY.

Well, first of all you won't catch me camping anytime soon so I think I should stick to hiding or running away, which I guess are pretty similar situations (getting away from something/someone and not wanting to be found). Here are my 5 essential items.

1. My dog. He's my buddy. He has special needs so he has to come with me....all his gear totals more than 5 items but so be it.
2. Z-Coils. I can't go a full day without them. I LOVE my Z-Coils. They even have a style named after me! Bella.
3. iPhone. Music, TV, Phone, internet, books, games,
4. Knitting project bag with sock needles and a couple of skeins of sock yarn.
5. Neti Pot with saline crystals. If you are an allergy sufferer and don't use a Neti pot, you are nuts. It's amazing what a difference this simple procedure makes. You'll notice a difference right away!

So there you have it. If I had to go into hiding or run away I'd be content with just those items to get me started.

Slow Start

Well I am getting off to a pretty slow start this term. I have done my yarn shopping for my handmade item, now I just need to pick my hand made item. It's hard for me to decide on what to make for someone that I don't know. Even with all the stalking that I've done I'm having trouble. Last night I pattern browsed and came up with a few ideas so I think I'm headed in the right direction now I hope.

Getting to Know Me -HSKS 12

1.I enjoy knitting, spinning and dyeing. I love to scrapbook though I have fallen WAY behind on that.
2.I was born in June.
3.I was born in Germany, but spent most of my life in the USA.
4.I'm not new to HSKS but I've been away for a while. I'm looking forward to being back.
5.This is my fourth HSKS swap.
6. You'll have to check my Ravelry profile for that. I definitely don't think that I have the biggest stash. Though I will admit that everything in my stash closest isn't listed here...then again I'm sure no one else has all theirs up there either!
7. I only knit, but I can crochet borders, etc.
8. Green is my fave.
9. Thanksgiving through Christmas is my favorite time of the year.
10. I love to knit with wool (Noro makes some of my favorite yarns because of the color changes, but those knots really PISS ME OFF), but as as spinner I can tell you that not all wool is created equal. I love to spin BFL (blue faced leicester).

So from this and the information on my sidebar you should have a pretty good idea of my favorites. On my ravelry page you will find links to my real blog. This is where you'll find the good stuff! LOL.

Family Assignment

This term at Hogwart's is a little different than I'm used to. Instead of Houses, we are being assigned to a Family. I just received word that I have been assigned to Harry’s Horcrux Hunters. This Family is headed by Celestina Pettigrew and our house colors are scarlet and ebony. I love the colors. I must say I'm a little relieved hat I didn't get assigned to Ron’s Muddle-Headed Mates. Not that there is anything wrong with Ron. In fact I think he might just be my favorite Potter character, but I just can't imagine the house colors maroon and orange going together - no offense to Virginia Tech either! LOL.

Now I can't wait to find out who will be spoiling me, who I will be spoiling and can't wait to see what Horcurx they picked. This kit theme is based on a horcrux. Here is a list of the possibilities:

Harry Potter
Nagini
Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem
Salazar Slytherin’s Locket
Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup
Tom Riddle’s Diary
Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring

I chose Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin and Marvolo Gaunt as my choices (at least I think I did).

Let the swapping begin!

HSKS12

It's hard to believe that I haven't been around since HSKS 6. It's been an extremely busy time for me. No real Bella time, but I'm hoping that is going to change.

I'm looking forward to being back and can't wait to see which family I am sorted in to. So that being said, I had spinning group today and had to drive there in my muggle vehicle so it was a LONG trip to and from. Had a great time while I was there though. Hadn't had much time for fiber lately. Hoping that changes too....more Bella time equals knitting/spinning/fiber time!~ YAY
